JDL (Junior Development League)

The goal of the NSFA JDL (Junior Development League) is to improve development opportunities for players and coaches within our local football clubs, while also underpinning the Northern Tigers JDL and the NSFA Super League and Diamond League competitions.

The NSFA JDL Clubs have been announced for 2024 and Turramurra United is extremely pleased to be able to offer this program to our players in U8-U11 again in 2024.

TUFC Development Program in 2024

TUFC will be entering teams in the NSFA Junior Development League (JDL) in 2024. We will have a JDL 1 team and a JDL 2 team in each age group from U8 to U11. Both teams in each age group will receive 2 nights a week XLR8 coaching for at least 20 weeks in the 2024 football season (including the pre-season) and match-day coaching. We will be integrating the training of the two development program teams in each age group as much as possible.

There are additional costs associated with JDL1 and JDL2 teams to support coaching, and expectations on players in terms of attendance and attitude at training and game days.

JDL1 and JDL 2 teams will be largely finalised late November or early December following trials, although some players may be taken on later should there be space in the teams.

Training will be Monday and Wednesday at NTRA.

Turramurra United Football Club JDL teams will receive:

  • A training and match day coach.
  • At least 20 weeks of 2 nights a week training.
  • 15 weeks of matches plus gala days (+ pre-season trial games).

FAQ

What if my child does not make or doesn’t want to try out for a Junior Development League team?

Community football is a major focus at TUFC, and we will continue to run as many teams as we can to serve players in the U8-U11 age group, especially for those who just want to play with their friends.
